This feature is well established and works across many devices and browser versions. It’s been available across browsers since July 2015.
The HTMLOptGroupElement
interface provides special properties and methods (beyond the regular HTMLElement
object interface they also have available to them by inheritance) for manipulating the layout and presentation of <optgroup>
elements.

HTMLOptGroupElement.disabled

A boolean value representing whether or not the whole list of children
<option>
is disabled (true) or not (false). HTMLOptGroupElement.label

A string representing the label for the group.
