HTMLSelectElement: type property

Baseline Widely available

This feature is well established and works across many devices and browser versions. It’s been available across browsers since July 2015.

The HTMLSelectElement.type read-only property returns the form control's type.

Value

One of the following:

  • "select-multiple" if multiple values can be selected.
  • "select-one" if only one value can be selected.
